Mrs. Denise Gonzalez, Principal

As principal of Las Lomas Elementary School, I am honored to serve a campus community that is committed to academic excellence, student growth, and meaningful relationships. I believe every child deserves a learning environment where they feel valued, supported, and inspired to reach their full potential.

My educational journey includes experience teaching students in kindergarten through fifth grade, serving as a teacher advisor, and supporting campus leadership as an assistant principal. These experiences have strengthened my passion for helping students succeed while empowering educators to do their best work. Throughout my career, I have had the opportunity to serve in Corpus Christi ISD, North East ISD, and Comal ISD.

Originally from Corpus Christi, I now call San Antonio home. As both an educator and a parent, I understand the importance of creating a school environment where students feel safe, engaged, and excited to learn each day.

At Las Lomas, I am committed to honoring the traditions and values that make our school special while continuously seeking opportunities to grow and improve. By working collaboratively with our dedicated staff, supportive families, and community partners, we can ensure that every student receives the high-quality educational experience they deserve.

Mrs. Bethany Thompson, Assistant Principal

Hi! I'm Bethany Thompson, and I am honored to serve as the Assistant Principal at Las Lomas Elementary. I have been in education since 2005 and joined North East ISD in 2018. During my time in the district, I have served as a classroom teacher, instructional coach, and assistant principal, and I truly love supporting students, teachers, and families.

Although I haven't spent my entire career in NEISD, this district has been a special place for my family. My children attend NEISD schools and will be graduates from Johnson High School, giving me both a professional and personal connection to our community.

I believe every child deserves to feel valued, challenged, and inspired each day. Building strong relationships with students, staff, and families is at the heart of everything I do. I am passionate about creating a positive school culture where everyone feels they belong and where we work together to help every student thrive. I am excited to continue partnering with our Las Lomas families and can't wait to see all that our Lions accomplish this year!
